薬科大生の自殺 Suicide of Pharmacy Student（English ver. is on the bottom）

一昨日、薬科大の学生が2名、大学構内で自殺されたそうです。

薬学部に通う私は、この事件をひとごとだとは思えませんでした。

この一件は、実に氷山の一角であると思います。
今回の事件では、学生が大学構内で自殺したことや、最近の一連の子供の自殺が頻発していることから、マスコミなどにも取り上げられましたが、マスコミに取り上げられていないところで同じようなことが山ほど起きているのではないかと推測します。

私の知るだけでも、私の通う薬科大でも、自殺した人が2名います。
うつ病をはじめとする精神疾患を抱える友人も少なくありません。

人を自殺に追い込む要因は、複数あることと思いますが、
薬学部での、学習環境からのストレスは、大きな要因の一つではないかと思います。

薬学を学び、将来、人の命を救おうと志す若者が、自ら命を落とすという事実に対し、
なんともやりきれない思いになります。

目に見えない、ストレス、言葉、圧力が、
人の命を奪う・・・


これは、ある意味、目に見えている武器より恐ろしいものかもしれません。

医療を志すものは、「人の命」をもっともっと、尊ぶことを、学んでいかなければならないと思います。
これは、自分の命もしかりです。

どんなに最先端の医療技術が発展しても、

日本では、毎年3万人以上の人が命を自ら落としている。


私達は、この現実から、目を背けてはいけないと思います。

The day before yesterday,

two pharmacy students killed themselves in their fuculty.

I couldn't take it something that is happening another world because I am also pharmacy student.

I think this case is just the tip of the iceberg.

Usualy not many people are paying attention for this kind of things, even there are so many pharmacy students had suicide before. But this time, they died in their University and also these days, kids' suicide is one of topic , so that's why they took this case in public.

As long as I know, we had 2 students' suicide in past coulple of years,
and we still have many friends who have mental desease.

There might be many reasons that make this situation,
but one could be the study enviroment in pharmacy school.

I mean, there are so many exams in one semister and taking about 10-15 exams at the same time. It is not so easy , so much stress, some times too busy just for study.

The fact that bright young people who are willing to save somebody's life in future with hopes are killing themselves is such a....sad ......I don't know how to describe ....

Things that can't see fisically; stress, pressure, words enviorment, are killing people.

That would be more scary than the wepon that we can see by our eyes.

We all who are studying medical should learn the "life" with respsct, including ourselves life.

Even we are having incredible progress in the forefront of the modern medicine,

We are having more than 30000 suicide per year in Japan.

We can't averting our eyes from this fact....
